SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Bard was down, 19-16, and had the ball with 10:40 left in the first half.
But a 28-2 run to end the first half, and a 22-4 run to start the second half - that's a
50-6 run - gave Skidmore College an easy 83-37 Liberty League victory over the Raptors on Friday night.
The 46-point loss matched Bard's worst conference defeat since joining the league in 2011-12. Hobart beat Bard by 46 in that inaugural season.
The game was just not close after the first 10 minutes. Skidmore shot 69 percent from the floor in the first half, while Bard shot 24 percent.
Four players scored in double figures for the Thoroughbreds, led by Connor Merrill (Panton, VT) and Erik Sanders (New York, NY) who had 16 points apiece. Skidmore is 11-7 overall, 5-4 in the Liberty League.
Bard (5-11, 0-7 Liberty League) got nine points from
