Bard swept in Liberty League volleyball opener

Bard freshman Daniella Azulai had 11 digs in Bard's loss to Vassar on Wednesday night.
Box Score ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team got its first look at a Liberty League team in the 2013-14 season on Wednesday night.

Vassar College swept Bard, 3-0, by set scores of 25-10, 25-7 and 25-11.

Freshman Gabby Miller (Scottsdale, AZ) led the Brewers with 13 kills and a .391 hitting percentage. Rose Carman (Santa Cruz, CA) had 31 assists, and Chloe Hallum (Olympia, WA) had 11 digs. After hitting .429 in the first set, Vassar hit .500 in the second set and cruised to a victory to improve to 7-5 overall, 1-0 in the Liberty League.

Bard (2-9, 0-1 Liberty League) got four kills from Mai Aurell-Foulser and three apiece from Tytravia Riley and Tiffany Leung. Lexi Cooper had 10 assists and Daniella Azulai contributed 11 digs.

The Raptors will next host Brooklyn College on Saturday afternoon at 1.
