In Game 1, Bard was down 4-0 after four innings. The Raptors got a run in the fifth when Ryan Conklin plated Tom Danz with a double, and another run in the sixth on a bases loaded walk by Andres Medina to make it 4-2 entering the seventh inning.

Mount St. Mary got three in the top of the seventh, and Bard went down in order in the bottom of the inning to make it a 7-2 final. Conklin went 2-for-4 for Bard, which had opportunities but ended up leaving 10 runners on base.

Freshman Mike Leone (Staten Island, NY) went 3-for-3 with an RBI and freshman Matt Cahill (Ronkonkoma, NY) went 2-for-3 with two RBI for the Knights.

In Game 2, Mount St. Mary (9-12) scored three unearned runs in the first, and although Bard got two back in the bottom of the inning, it was 8-2 entering the bottom of the fifth.

Bard scored four in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Conklin, a double by Tyler Emel, a fielders' choice grounder by Alec Montecalvo and a single by Adam Flowers. It was 8-6 entering the sixth inning, but the Raptors couldn't get closer, and the Knights tacked on a run in the seventh to make the final 9-6.

Senior Michael Matuk (Poughkeepsie, NY) and senior Tim Stauder (East Meadow, NY) drove in a pair of runs apiece for the winners. Senior lefty Joe CoFrancesco (Hamden, CT) picked up saves in both games, striking out five of the nine batters he faced.

For Bard, Emel went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored; Montecalvo went 1-for-3 with two RBI, and Flowers went 2-for-2 with two RBI. Conklin yielded three earned runs over five innings but took the tough-luck loss.

Bard (3-11) next plays a doubleheader at Lehman College on Sunday. First pitch is at noon.
