Lamar Powell led Bard with 17 points in Friday night's loss to RIT.
Box Score ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Two weeks ago in Rochester, the Bard College men's basketball team was tied with Rochester Institute of Technology, 57-57, with two minutes left in the game.

The Raptors didn't score again and lost.

In the rematch on Friday night, another scoreless stretch proved to be too much to overcome, and RIT beat Bard again, this time 71-58, in a Liberty League game.

Box score

RIT (7-14, 3-9 Liberty League) led by as much as nine in the first half, but by halftime, Bard had trimmed the lead to 31-28. RIT pushed the edge to seven in the first five minutes of the second half, but Bard fought back, and that's when things got interesting.

When sophomore Ben Kane hit three free throws, Bard led, 41-40, with 12:48 left in the game. From there, the game would be tied three more times as each possession grew more and more important with the clock becoming a factor.

A driving layup by Lamar Powell tied the game for the final time at 51-51 - and that's when Bard sent silent. The Raptors didn't score between the 7:20 mark and the 1:20 mark while RIT went on a 13-0 run, and that was it. The deficit stayed in double digits for the rest of the game.

RIT got 22 points and seven rebounds from senior Nick Dobson (Corning, NY). Dobson scored 17 points in 17 minutes in the first half. Senior Eric Travis (Chicago, IL) added 14 points and 14 rebounds, and freshman Mike D'Amico (Pittsford, NY) added 15 points. The Tigers play at Vassar on Saturday at 4 p.m.
