Three-point barrage does in Bard against Mount Saint Mary

Box Score ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The three-pointers kept going up, and they kept going in. Over, and over, and over again.

With 7:44 left in the first half of Wednesday night's non-league game between Mount Saint Mary and Bard, the guests had a modest 22-17 lead and had hit only a pair of three-pointers. That's when it began raining.

The Knights made 7-of-8 three-pointers in those final seven minutes and a season-high 15 in the game en route to an 86-69 non-league win over the Raptors.

The run at the end of the first half made it 49-28 at the half, and Bard didn't get closer than 16 points the rest of the way. Mount Saint Mary (15-7) shot 55 percent from beyond the arc, and outrebounded Bard, 36-28, to beat the Raptors for the ninth straight time since 2008.

Ryan Straub (Massapequa, NY) led four double-figure scorers for the winners with 17 points, including 4-for-5 from three-point range. Donte Howell (Baldwin, NY) added 15 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Bard (4-17) got a season-high 16 points from senior Jeremy Arnstein, who went 4-for-5 from beyond the arc. Freshman Brandon Cunningham set a career high with 15 points, and Siondueh Burnette added 13 points. Senior Frank Stortini led the Raptors with 11 rebounds.
