Box Score ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team was swept by Elms College for the second time this season on Tuesday night, 3-0, in a non-league game.

Box score

Elms and Bard opened the season against each other at the SUNYIT Tournament a couple of weeks ago; Elms won it 25-22, 25-16 and 25-15. This time it was closer, but the result was the same: 25-21, 25-21 and 25-20, another Elms sweep.

Each set was close, but Elms just executed better down the stretch to pull out each one. In the first set, for example, it was tied 19-19 when Elms went on a little run. A kill and consecutive blocks by sophomore Angel Castro (Carolina, Puerto Rico) closed out the set, 25-21.

Same story in the second set. This time it was 18-18 when Elms scored three straight points; Bard didn't get closer than 22-19 and lost the set, 25-21.

Bard (1-6) led the third set early, but Elms (5-2) rallied and took charge. It was 14-14 when another Elms run made it 20-14; Bard cut it to 22-20, but Elms closed the match out with a kill, a block and an ace.

The visitors were led by freshman Jeff Vautrin (Chicopee, MA), who had 15 kills. Stephen Cameron (Newington, CT) and Castro added 12 kills apiece.

Bard got nine kills and six digs from Billy Williams; Henry Kasiske had 21 assists, and Daniel Gagne led the defense with 13 digs.

Up next for Bard is a United Volleyball Conference Crossover at Medaille this weekend; the Raptors will play Hilbert on Saturday, then No. 5 Nazareth and Penn State-Behrend on Sunday.
