No. 4 Stevens Tech cruises past Bard

Billy Williams had seven kills against Stevens on Wednesday night.
Box Score ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Stevens Institute of Technology men's volleyball team has been on a real tear lately, defeating four ranked teams over a seven-day span leading up to Wednesday night's United Volleyball Conference match at Bard.

They're still on a tear.

Stevens won its seventh in a row with a 3-0 sweep of Bard, by set scores of 25-9, 25-15 and 25-15. The Ducks moved up to No. 4 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Div. III poll this week, and they made short work of Bard.

Box score

Stevens (11-3 overall, 6-0) hit .654 in the first set and .529 for the match. Sophomore Ian Tyger (York, PA) led Stevens with 10 kills, and nine other players had at least two kills apiece, as the Ducks went to their bench often. Freshman John Eddins (Kula, HI) had 33 assists.

Bard (2-11, 0-6 UVC) got seven kills from Billy Williams, 19 assists and Henry Kasiske, and six digs from Daniel Gagne. The Raptors have now played four teams ranked in the Top 10 in the national poll.

Up next is the Bard Raptors Tournament on Friday and Saturday. Bard will play Mount St. Vincent on Friday, then Keuka and Berkeley on Saturday.
