Rochester, Vassar top Bard on first day of Liberty League Men's Squash Championships

Bard will play host St. Lawrence, then Hobart on Sunday.
CANTON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's squash team lost to University of Rochester and Vassar College on the first day of the Liberty League Championships, hosted by St. Lawrence University.

Bard lost to Rochester, 9-0. Bard freshman Matt Lampeter was the only Raptor to win a game. After losing the first game at No. 1 to Rochester's Ryosei Kobayashi (Yokahoma, Japan) 11-5, he won the second game, 11-6, to get even. Kobayashi won the third and fourth games, 11-9 and 11-4, respectively, to prevail.

Bard lost to Vassar, 8-1. Bard's only victory came via default; Lampeter and Jeremy Goldsher each won one game, Lampeter at No. 1, and Goldsher at No. 4

The Raptors will play host St. Lawrence on Sunday morning at 10, then Hobart College at noon.
