Bard falls to 2-2 with loss to Marymount

ARLINGTON, Va. - On Friday, the Bard College men's basketball team did some sightseeing in Washington D.C., in advance of Saturday's non-league game at Marymount University.

The sightseeing was memorable. The game was forgettable.

Marymount shot 67 percent from the field and made 37-of-42 foul shots in a dominating 104-46 victory.

Both teams started the game shooting poorly from the field. With 11:38 left in the first half, the Saints (3-1) led 18-7 on the strength of 12-for-12 shooting from the foul line. Marymount started making its shots after that point, but Bard didn't. It was 54-22 at halftime. The Raptors (2-2) shot 25 percent in the first half; Marymount shot 64 percent.

It didn't change in the second half. Marymount's 32-point halftime lead became 42 five minutes into the second half and won going away.

For the game, the Saints scored 42 points off of 19 Bard turnovers and ourebounded the Raptors, 37-21.

Senior Reed Scott (Ellicott City, MD) led the winners with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

For Bard, Lamar Powell had 21 points, three assists and two steals.

The Raptors are off until Dec. 4, when they'll host Berkeley College of New Jersey in their home opener.
