Raptors lose home finale to Rutgers-Newark

Saturday makred the final home match in the career of Mai Aurell-Foulser. With five matches left, she has 489 kills in 105 career matches.

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's volleyball team lost to Rutgers-Newark, 3-0, in its home finale on Saturday afternoon.

Set scores for the Scarlet Raiders were 25-17, 25-16 and 25-16.

Bard (4-24) fell behind early in each of the three sets and never had a lead. In the first set, Rutgers-Newark got out to a 5-0 lead, and although Bard eventually tied it at 15-15, the visitors won the set, 25-17.

Rutgers-Newark jumped out to an 11-1 lead in set 2 and never looked back; and in the third set, the early lead was 10-3 en route to a 25-16 win.

Freshman Christina Miglione (Iselin, NJ) led Rutgers-Newak with 16 kills. The Scarlet Raiders are 8-15.

Bard got eight kills and five aces from Tytravia Riley, 16 assists from Lexi Cooper, and 14 digs from Amy Kassowitz. It was the last home match in the four-year career of Mai Aurell-Foulser. Going into the final weekend of her career next week, she has 489 career kills.

The Raptors will finish the season at the Dig Pink Invitational hosted by Oneonta State next weekend.
