ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — The Bard College women's volleyball team was derailed by the Mount Saint Mary Knights on Tuesday evening, 25-16, 19-25, 25-20, 25-18.

Penelope Joosten Lingo impressed with a career-high 33 digs, ten more than her previous high of 23. That brought her to t-5th all-time in a match in Bard history. Xenia Vassou posted nine digs, six kills, and two blocks. Ava Rhinehart tallied four kills, seven digs and two aces. Fernanda Julian notched a double-double with 15 assists and 11 digs, adding two aces. Alex Beer collected nine kills, an assist, and a dig.

Isis Pribble put up ten digs, six aces, and seven digs. Nala Roman collected four kills, two digs, and a block. Adrianna Howell built on a strong performance Saturday with 11 digs. Paola De La Cruz had four digs and a block. Gia Gomez recorded two kills and a dig.

In set one, the Raptors started out behind 0-3 before Pribble struck an attack through. Mount Saint Mary built its cushion to six at 11-5. Bard won three straight to cut the deficit in half. However, five of the next seven points went to the Knights. Bard had a 4-1 run to bring it to 17-14. At 18-15, the Knights used a 7-1 to sprint to the finish line.

Pribble had four aces during a 7-1 run to start the second set. At 13-5 Bard, Mount Saint Mary had a 5-0 spurt but Bard quickly diffused the threat with a 6-1 run to put the score at 19-11. At 20-14, Bard brought it to 24-14 with four straight points. Mount Saint Mary saved five set points but the Raptors got a clutch kill from Beer to tie the match. Bard led the ace category 7-2.

Mount Saint Mary had an 8-2 start to the third set. Bard brought it all the way back with a 9-2 run of its own, punctuated by a kill from Pribble. The Knights gradually built a four-point lead, going from down 10-11 to up 20-16. Beer and Roman notched back-to-back kills, but four straight from the Knights brought up set point, 24-18. The Raptors saved two but did not climb all the way back.

The momentum carried into the beginning of the fourth set, as the Knights took a 6-0 lead. Bard turned it around with an impressive 15-8 run, closed out by two aces from Pribble. The Knights called timeout, and they won four of the following five points. At 19-18 Mount Saint Mary, a 3-0 run forced a Bard timeout. The final three points also went to the Knights.

The homestand continues with a match versus Plattsburgh State at 6 p.m. on Friday.
