Box Score SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Union College men's basketball team pushed a six-point lead to 14 over the last five minutes of the first half and cruised to an 81-63 Liberty League victory over Bard on Saturday afternoon.

Union is 11-1 overall and 3-0 in the league. It's the best start for the men's basketball program in 56 years.
Bard hung tough for most of the first half and was down, 26-20, with just over five minutes until the break. But the Dutchmen went on a 17-9 run to take a 43-29 lead into halftime.
The Raptors (3-6, 0-2) struggled to guard Union's bigger players all day and collected 24 fouls. The Dutchmen responded by going 19-for-28 from the foul line.
Bard whittled the 14-point halftime deficit to 10 a couple of times, the last instance occurring with 6:37 left in the game. But Union got the lead back up to 20 in the final minute and cruised to its 10th straight victory. Four players finished with double-figure scoring for Union, led by senior Keven Donohue (Hudson Falls, NY), who had 16 points and six rebounds.
Bard got 16 points and two blocks from
Siondueh Burnette, and 12 points and three assists from
Lamar Powell. Sophomore
Pat Lichtenstein contributed eight points and three assists, and sophomore
Berk Atuk came off the bench to lead the Raptors with seven rebounds in 18 minutes.
