Men's volleyball team opens 2013 season with loss at Sage

Henry Kasiske had 14 assists and five digs in a season-opening loss to Sage on Wednesday night.
Box Score ALBANY, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team opened the 2013 season with a 3-0 loss at Sage on Wednesday night in a non-league game.

Set scores for Sage were 25-12, 25-18 and 25-15.

The youthful Raptors, who started four freshmen, struggled hitting all night. They had more errors than kills and yielded 10 service aces. Billy Williams and Zack Nussdorf led the Raptors (0-1) with four kills apiece; Henry Kasiske had 14 assists and five digs; and Daniel Gagne led the team with six digs.

Sophomore Andy Fishman (Cornwallville, NY) led Sage (1-0) with 17 kills, seven aces and five digs.

Up next for Bard is the SUNYIT Tournament this weekend in Utica, N.Y. The Raptors will play Elms and Hilbert on Friday. The groupings will be re-seeded before Saturday's matches.
