Box Score ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's soccer team has longed to earn some respect in the vaunted Liberty League this year, and Friday's scoreless tie with Clarkson may help in that effort.
On Saturday, the Raptors had an opportunity to really make a statement, but it slipped away when St. Lawrence scored in the 83rd minute en route to a 1-0 victory at the Ferrari Soccer Complex.

The game was tense throughout, with St. Lawrence maintaining an edge in possession and shots, but the Saints weren't exactly producing any excellent scoring chances. At the same time, neither was Bard.
Late in the second half, the second of consecutive corners earned by St. Lawrence produced the game-winner. Sophomore Holly Wark (Lake Forest, IL) struck a corner high and directly into the box, where freshman Emily DePoy (Clifton Park, NY) elevated and struck a header. Instead of going directly toward the goal, the header was struck down on a diagonal, and it bounded toward the line.
Bard defender
Neena Marano tried in vain the keep the ball out, but it trickled over the line.
Bard's last, best chance to score came in the 88th minute, when
Maddy Huggins struck a low, hard shot from the top of the box, but freshman keeper Kelsey West (Fall River, Nova Scotia) made a diving save, and the Saints improved to 6-2-2 overall, 1-1-1 in the Liberty League.
St. Lawrence outshot Bard, 12-5, and had a 6-4 edge in corners. West made five saves.
Lena James made six saves for Bard, which is 4-6-1 overall, 0-1-1 in the Liberty League.
Up next for the Raptors is a road game at Vassar on Wednesday. You can follow that game here via Live Stats.
