Bard drops pair at MIT as season comes to a close

The Bard men's volleyball team finished the 2012 season at MIT this weekend.
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Bard College men's volleyball team lost its final two games of the 2012 season, falling to Southern Vermont College, 3-1, and Emmanuel College, 3-0, at the MIT Scramble.

The Raptors finish the 2012 season at 9-20.

Southern Vermont topped Bard by set scores of 25-23, 20-25, 25-20 and 25-21. Senior Nick Chan had 24 kills and 20 digs, senior Ryan Fallon had a career-high 15 kills, and sophomore Billy Williams added nine kills and 14 digs. Senior Andrew Cortrite had a team-high 21 digs, and sophomore Henry Kasiske had 54 assists and 11 digs.

Emmanuel defeated Bard 25-12, 25-20 and 25-17. Chan had eight kills and six digs; Fallon had six kills; and Kasiske had 18 assists.

Second-ranked Springfield College won the tournament, going 4-0 without losing a set. Host MIT, the 11th-ranked team in the country, also went 4-0 but lost four sets along the way.
