Chan's 28 kills not enough vs. Mount St. Vincent

Senior Nick Chan had 28 kills in a loss to Mount St. Vincent on Saturday.
RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Saturday began with the Bard College men's volleyball team avenging a February loss to Lehman College, and it ended with an agonizing loss to Mount St. Vincent.

The Raptors (9-15) dominated Lehman College, winning 3-0 by scores of 25-13, 25-19 and 25-20. Lehman topped Bard, 3-2, last month.

In Saturday's match, Nick Chan had 11 kills, three digs and five aces, Henry Kasiske had 34 assists, 10 digs and five blocks, Ryan Fallon and Eliah Gardner added eight kills apiece, and Andrew Cortrite led the team with 13 digs.

That victory gave Bard a temporary three-game winning streak. It lasted about two hours.

That's because Mount St. Vincent edged Bard, 3-2, by set scores of 23-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-21 and 15-13. Chan had a whopping 28 kills, to go with three aces and eight digs. Kasiske contributed 46 assists, two aces and 13 digs; Ryan Fallon had nine kills and two blocks; Cortrite had 16 digs, Billy Williams had 13 digs, and Gardner had 12 digs.

The Raptors will host 11th-ranked Vassar College on Wednesday night at 7 in a United Volleyball Conference game. It'll be senior night for Chan, Cortrite, Gardner, Fallon, Gardner and Damianos Lazaridis Giannopoulos.
