Men's volleyball team headed to first UVC Crossover

The Bard College men's volleyball team will travel to Hoboken, N.J., this weekend to participate in its first United Volleyball Conference Crossover weekend, being hosted by Stevens Institute of Technology.

All 12 UVC members will participate in the two-day event, and half of them are ranked in the top 15 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll.

The Raptors, 0-1 in the UVC and 5-1 overall, will play three matches. First, they'll take on Elmira College at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The Soaring Eagles are 1-0 in the UVC and 9-5 overall. Elmira hasn't cracked the national Top 15 yet, but they've been in the "Also Receiving Votes" category over the last two weeks.

On Sunday, the Raptors will play Penn State-Behrend (0-1 UVC, 0-6) at 10 a.m., and D'Youville College (1-0 UVC, 2-2) at 2 p.m.

Stevens Tech has created a tournament page which will be updated with scores throughout the weekend. You can also check back here on Bard's athletics web site to get the complete story about Bard's matches.

Next week, Bard will host No. 7-ranked NYU on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in another UVC match.
