HOBOKEN, N.J. - The Bard College men's volleyball team was defeated by Elmira College, 3-1, on the first day of a United Volleyball Conference Crossover meet at Stevens Tech on Saturday afternoon.
Set scores were 25-15, 25-16, 19-25 and 25-15 for Elmira.

Bard, 5-2 overall and 0-2 in the UVC, got 13 kills, five blocks, two digs and an ace from
Nick Chan;
Henry Kasiske led the Raptors with 24 assists, while Kasiske,
Billy Williams and
Brice Ormesher each had five digs.
Bard will play two matches on Sunday to finish the meet; they'll face Penn State-Behrend at 10 a.m., and D'Youville College at 3 p.m.
Elmira (11-5, 3-0 UVC) got 10 kills, six assists and four digs from freshman Mike Stianche (Bethlehem, PA). The Soaring Eagles swept SUNYIT later on Saturday, and will play Vassar on Sunday.
