Men's volleyball season ends in ECAC semifinals

Saturday's loss to Ramapo ended the collegiate careers of four Bard seniors, including Eli Strauss.
OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The season ended Saturday morning for the Bard College men's volleyball team with a 3-0 loss to Ramapo College in the Eastern College Athletic Conference South Region semifinals.

Ramapo defeated Bard 25-17, 25-16 and 30-28. It's the second time this season that Ramapo has swept Bard.

Bard junior Brice Ormesher (Chicago, Ill.) and Nick Chan (Victor, N.Y.) led offensively with 10 and 13 kills respectively, but the Raptors struggled with their hitting, producing a .100 percentage as a team. Freshman Henry Kasiske (Los Angeles, Calif.) had 27 assists and junior libero Andrew Cortrite (Los Angeles, Calif.) had a team-leading 10 digs.

Ramapo (18-12) got 11 kills (.357), six digs and four blocks from junior Paul Konopacki (Monroe Township, N.J.)

Bard finishes the season, its last in the Skyline Conference, as the Skyline Conference champions and a 20-13 overall record. Next season Bard will be a full member of the powerful United Volleyball Conference.

It was the last game for four Bard seniors: Eli Strauss, Max Howard, Erik Shagdar and Dan Placht.
