ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's volleyball team swept a pair of matches on Friday to earn a spot in the Bard Raptors Tournament championship on Saturday.

Bard defeated Skyline Conference foes Polytechnic Institute of NYU and SUNY Purchase - both by 3-0 scores - to advance to Saturday's final against Mount Ida College. Mount Ida swept Medgar Evers and Sage to advance.

Against NYU-Poly, the Raptors won 25-10, 25-15 and 25-16. Bard junior Nick Chan (Victor, N.Y.) had 17 kills, just four errors and a .382 hitting percentage. Freshman setter Henry Kasiske (Los Angeles, Calif.) has 22 assists, no errors, a .500 set percentage and 11 digs. Junior libero Andrew Cortrite (Los Angeles, Calif.) added 11 digs as well.

Against SUNY Purchase, Bard rolled 25-8, 25-21 and 25-10. Junior Brice Ormesher (Chicago, Ill.) had seven kills, Kasiske had 15 assists and four digs, and Cortrite had six digs.

Bard finished the day with an 8-7 overall record. NYU-Poly is 3-9; SUNY Purchase is 1-5; Mount Ida is 5-10; Sage is 5-7; Medgar Evers is 0-14.
