ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Early on, Saturday's game between Sage and Bard looked like it was going to be a close one.
It was 10-10 seven minutes into the game.
Sage started running and rebounding, though, and five minutes later, it was 26-11.
At the end, Sage won easily, 88-55.
Bard was outrebounded by Sage, 47-27 - and the Gators made an amazing 56 percent of their shots - because 62 of their points came from the paint.
Bard (1-13 overall, 1-8 Skyline) was behind by 14 at halftime and never got closer.
Sage (6-8 overall, 4-6 Skyline) had four players in double figures, led by sophomore Matt Farbotko (Rouses Point, NY), who had 20 points. Junior Dalton Austin-Michaud added 17 points on 8-for-9 shooting from the field.
Bard - which was playing without freshmen
Anton Popov (Tel Aviv, Israel) and
Ben Kane (Rockville, MD) due to illnesses - got a season-high 20 points from senior
Christian Marghella (Closter, NJ) and 18 from junior
Matt Shubert (West Chester, PA).
The Raptors play another Skyline Conference game on Tuesday, this time on the road at SUNY Maritime on Tuesday at 7.
