NEWBURGH, N.Y. - The Bard College men's basketball team held a couple of early leads, and the game was tied about halfway through the first quarter, but Mount Saint Mary pulled away and won a Skyline Conference game, 74-49, on Wednesday night.
The Raptors made four of their first five shots and seemed determined to have another strong shooting night, but Mount Saint Mary collected 10 steals and forced 22 turnovers to earn the victory going away.
The game was tied at 12-12 when the Blue Knights went on a 20-11 run to finish the first half. Bard, 0-9 overall and 0-4 in the Skyline Conference, never got closer than the 32-23 halftime deficit.
Sophomore guard Lenny Ragaglia (Staten Island, NY) led Mount Saint Mary with 20 points in just 15 minutes of action. The Blue Knights are 4-3 overall, 3-1 in the Skyline Conference.
The Raptors got 13 points apiece from junior
Yonah Greenstein (Rego Park, NY) and senior
Christian Marghella (Closter, NJ). Bard hosts Farmingdale State in another Skyline Conference contest on Saturday at 4 p.m.
