ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's basketball team lost to the Privateers of SUNY Maritime by the score of 81-67.
This was the second loss to the Privateers on the season and leaves the Raptors at 1-17 on the season and 1-12 in Skyline Conference play. SUNY Maritime now stands at 11-4 overall with a 9-3 Skyline record which has them in third place.
The Privateers took a 35-27 lead into the locker room at halftime after a hard fought first half in which the Raptors hung around by hitting on 6-of-15 three pointers. Senior
Adam Shear started the game hot from behind the arc and was a big reason Bard was able to keep up with the Privateers in the first half.
In the second half both teams came out playing hard and both would make they're respective runs. Bard was able to close within 5 a number of times but were unable to get any closer. Shear along with fellow senior
Justin White led the scoring for the game with White totaling 29 and Shear finishing with 19.
For Maritime
Justin Bright,
Andre Cooper, and
Adedokun Olanrewaju all finished in double figures with 24, 21, and 18 respectively.
The Raptors will return to Skyline Conference action Sunday, January 31st when they face Yeshiva University and 4 pm.
