ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.— Six members of the Bard College women's tennis team were honored as ITA Scholar-Athletes for the 2025-26 season. The team was also recognized as an ITA All-Academic Team.
The six students honored were first-years Maria Castro, Catherine Chapel, and Lola Greene, sophomores Patricia Santos and Jesse Radzik, and senior Paige Houghton.
First-year Maria Castro is studying theater and performance. Castro played in 11 singles and doubles matches in her first season. She went 8-3 in singles and 6-5 in doubles.
First-year Catherine Chapel is studying economics. Chapel played in 17 singles matches and 16 doubles matches in their first season. They won six singles matches and two doubles matches.
First-year Lola Greene is studying literature/written arts. She played in one singles match and three doubles matches. Greene competed at No. 5 singles against Vassar. In doubles, she partnered with Lisa Kyrtoka twice, taking six total games off of Ithaca and St. Lawrence at No. 3 doubles, and she teamed up with Sienna Roveda at No. 2 doubles against Marywood.
Sophomore Patricia Santos is studying film and electronic arts. Santos played in 18 singles matches and 16 doubles matches. She played primarily at No. 4 singles, with 11 matches, including a win over SUNY Oneonta. Santos had three doubles victories, which came against WestConn, Purchase, and John Jay. She is also a member of the CSC Academic All-District team.
Sophomore Jesse Radzik has not declared her major. She competed in 16 singles matches and 14 doubles matches. Radzik collected wins over Ithaca, WestConn, Purchase, Manhattanville, Salve Regina, Marywood, and Colby-Sawyer. She participated in eight matches at No. 3 doubles, with wins over Purchase, Manhattanville, and Salve Regina. She is also a member of the CSC Academic All-District team.
Senior Paige Houghton is majoring in psychology. Houghton played 17 singles and doubles matches. She won six No. 1 doubles matches, tied for the team-high at any position. Houghton had singles victories over WestConn, Purchase, and Marywood. She is also a member of the CSC Academic All-District team.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
