RECAP: Men’s Tennis Toppled by RIT

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Bard College men's tennis team was overcome by the RIT Tigers on Sunday morning, 0-7. 

At No. 1 doubles, Nick Oh and Thanasis Kostikas were outmaneuvered, 1-6. At No. 2 doubles, Blake Kendall and Faisal Jones registered a game midway through the set. Ciaran Chamberlain and Peter Trimble were electric, each holding for a 2-6 set at No. 3 doubles. 

At No. 1 singles, Oh had a commendable performance, 1-6, 2-6, against the reigning Liberty League Rookie of the Year, Yu Tanimoto. At No. 2 singles, Kostikas managed to get on the board in the second set, 0-6, 1-6. At No. 3 singles, Kendall gained ground in his service games but did not convert. 

At No. 4 singles, Jones notched two games in the first set before the Tigers got into a groove. Trimble hustled well, inducing errors to win a game at No. 5 singles. Chamberlain rounded out the Bard lineup at No. 6 singles. 

A non-conference match is on the horizon, as UMass Boston will travel to Bard on Thursday with a start time of 4 p.m. It is the Raptors' Morgan's Message themed game.
