RECAP: Men’s Tennis Overpowered by Vassar

Box Score POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Bard College men's tennis team was bested by the Vassar Brewers on Saturday afternoon, 7-0. 

Nick Oh and Blake Kendall played at No. 1 doubles, where Vassar got a fairly comfortable 6-1 win. Faisal Jones and Ciaran Chamberlain were partnered at No. 2 doubles, where they did not claw back from an early deficit, falling 0-6. At No. 3 doubles, Thanasis Kostikas and Peter Trimble put up a fight but ended 0-6. 

Oh earned four games, 2-6, 2-6 at No. 1 singles. At No. 2 singles, Kostikas was unable to fully break through after quick starts to each set, 2-6, 2-6. Kendall tested his Vassar opponent at No. 3 singles, who passed without a major blemish, 6-0, 6-1.

At No. 4 singles Jones challenged the Brewers, finishing 0-6, 0-6. Trimble found some traction but had a 0-6, 0-6 scoreline. Chamberlain played at No. 6 singles, where Vassar prevented him from getting his third win.

The Raptors face Purchase on the road on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
