ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College men's volleyball team fell to NEVC foe Endicott on Saturday, 18-25, 16-25, 25-23, 17-25 at Stevenson Athletic Center.

Ansel Waisler had a team-high 12 kills, as well as nine digs. Sidney Stein and Pearse Esposito joined him in double figures with 11 kills each. Stein added three digs and an ace, while Esposito dished out 17 assists and picked up five digs.

Lincoln Grisso had five kills and five digs. Damiel Batista provided a spark with two kills on four attempts (.500 hitting), as well as a dig. Georgi Chikolov had a team-high 20 assists, adding three digs.

Zach Butler led the team with four blocks, adding a kill and a dig. Gideon Jacob had a match-high four aces, and Amadeo Pinto contributed eight digs.

To start the match, Endicott took the first five points before Grisso stopped the bleeding with a kill. The Gulls led by six at 8-2 when the Raptors went on a 7-2 run, highlighted by back-to-back aces from Jacob, to cut the lead to one at 10-9.

Endicott slowly built a 21-17 lead before sealing the set with a 4-1 run. In set two, an 11-6 Endicott start boosted the Gulls ahead, and offensively, they had 15 kills to no errors for a .625 hitting percentage.

Bard started a comeback in the third, with a 15-kill set of their own, hitting just two errors en route to a .371 hitting percentage. Endicott started in control with an 8-5 advantage. However, Bard came back to tie it at 12-12. The set was still tied at 19-19 when Bard won five straight points, including two aces from Jacob. The Gulls fought in every set point, saving four straight, but the Raptors were helped out on the fifth by a service error.

The Raptors won the first two points of the fourth, looking to gain momentum with back-to-back kills from Waisler and Esposito. However, Endicott won four straight and never looked back, holding Bard at arm's length until 18-16. At that point, the Gulls finished strong on a 7-1 run.

Bard plays Ramapo on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the final match of its nine-match homestand.
