ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard women's lacrosse team shut out the Anna Maria AMCATS on Saturday afternoon, 11-0 on Saturday afternoon on Lorenzo Ferrari Soccer and Lacrosse Complex. The Raptors shut out against the AMCATS is the first in program's history.

Gwendolyn Jamison led all goal-scorers with a career-high six goals, adding two ground balls. Her six goals is tied for third-most in a game in program history. Eva Hersey made an excellent debut, with a Bard record-breaking 14 ground balls, three goals, two assists, eight caused turnovers, and three draw controls. Her eight caused turnovers ranks second in a game in Bard history.

Rian Sullivan ran the offense well, notching a career-high four assists and scoring a goal of her own. She contributed a career-high eight ground balls, three caused turnovers, and a draw control. Her four assists is tied for the fourth-most in a game in school history. Ella Perreault tallied a goal, an assist, eight ground balls, seven caused turnovers (both career-highs), and a draw control.

Astrid Tillberg picked up four ground balls and a caused turnover, Gwyn Downey had a career-high four ground balls and two caused turnovers, and Electra Wilmerding added three ground balls and four caused turnovers. Carmen Merrick had a career-high eight ground balls, four caused turnovers, and a draw control. Fae Johnson and Sophie Folds each dished out assists to fellow teammates. Lexie Blackburn got the win in goal, tallying three saves and three ground balls.

Both teams started strong defensively, with almost 10 minutes of scoreless action. At the 5:28 mark, Hersey caught a pass from Sullivan in stride and got Bard on the board. 3:12 later, Sullivan capitalized on a free position shot to score a woman-up goal.

In the second period, another woman-up opportunity presented itself for the Raptors, and Sullivan found a cutting Jamison for an early goal less than a minute in. About two minutes passed when Sullivan combined with Hersey again for the fourth goal. Johnson dished out an assist to Jamison from behind the net at the 5:13 mark, and a short time later, Folds hit Hersey on the way to the net for the woman-up goal.

The third period started out similarly to the first, with a scoreless stretch of over six minutes. Hersey found Jamison for the Raptors' opening score at the 8:38 mark. With 6:18 remaining, Perreault had a straight-line drive to the net as she made it 8-0. Three more goals from Jamison plus a strong effort defensively allowed Bard to secure the victory.

Next up is a home game against MSMC on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
