Box Score On Wednesday afternoon, the Bard College men's tennis team battled for its first two singles wins over the RPI Engineers since joining the Liberty League in 2011.
Nicholas Oh and
Peter Trimble each claimed victories at No. 1 and No. 3 singles.
The match started with doubles, where Oh and Trimble competed with RPI, earning two games at No. 1 doubles.
Jackson Brent and
Blake Kendall challenged the Engineers at No. 2 doubles, finishing with a game.
Daniel Hsu and
Ciaran Chamberlain contended but fell short, 0-6.
Oh took on RPI's top player at No. 1 singles and won against the Engineers, 4-6, 6-4, 10-5. At No. 2 singles, Brent played at his highest spot in the ladder and battled for a game in the second set, 0-6, 1-6. Trimble outdueled the Engineers for his first conference win, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 3 singles.
At No. 4 singles, Hsu clashed with RPI, 2-6, 0-6. Kendall squared off with his opponent, 0-6, 1-6 at No. 5 singles. At No. 6 singles, Chamberlain pushed the Engineers but fell 0-6, 0-6.
Bard travels to Newport, RI to play Salve Regina on Saturday at noon.
