RECAP: Men’s Soccer Blanks Pratt 2-0

Raptors start 5-1 for third straight season

The Bard College men's soccer team scored late in each half, defeating Pratt 2-0 on Saturday night. The Raptors have not allowed a goal in any of the four meetings with the Cannoneers.

To begin the game, Pratt had the first shot on goal. Julian Landau had plenty of time to react to the long-range shot and handled it cleanly. In the 13th minute, Bard played the ball over the top of the defense, setting up a shot for Mateo Betelu, which went wide. The teams traded a few more off-target shots before the Raptors found the back of the net at the 37:05 mark. To break the tie, Emmett Olson shot it past the goalkeeper right down Broadway.

Landau made his second save 4:06 into the second half, keeping the Cannoneers off the board. With 27:40 remaining, he recorded another save on a shot that was headed to the top of the net. Then, Colin Mott navigated through the offensive third, found enough space for a shot, and forced a tough save. Bard scored an insurance goal with 6:14 left in the game from a penalty kick by Betelu.

Julian Landau had three saves, playing the entire match. Betelu, Olson, Brandon Alchy, Aiden Trapp, Luca Costanzo, and Zac Sparacio also joined Landau on the pitch for the entirety of the game.

Old Westbury is the Raptors' next opponent. Bard will travel to the Panthers for their final road non-conference match on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
