Men's Basketball Earns NABC Team Academic Excellence Award

Rowan Heinze named to Honors Court

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — The Bard College Men's Basketball team has been recognized with the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award for the third consecutive year, and Rowan Heinze was the lone Raptor to receive Honors Court recognition. 

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes men's basketball programs that completed the 2024-25 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Raptors finished above that threshold with a cumulative mark of 3.35.

Graduate student Rowan Heinze is majoring in biology. Heinze started all 25 games for the Raptors this season. He was 12th in the league in scoring, at 11.7 per game. Heinze had 14 games with double-digit points. Heinze produced season-high performances of 28 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists. He had 756 points in his career and was second in scoring for the Raptors the past two seasons. He led the starters in field goal percentage this year at 52.8%. Heinze had the game-winning layup against Hobart as time expired on January 17th. He is a four-time Liberty League All-Academic, a two-time CSC Academic All-District and a three-time Honors Court honoree.
