ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — Three members of the Bard College men's volleyball team were honored as the New England Volleyball Conference (NEVC) Academic All-Conference.
The three student-athletes honored were: junior
Georgi Chikolov, junior
Quinn Lewis and graduate student
Quincy Ross. All three student-athletes are now two-time NEVC Academic All-Conference honorees.
Georgi Chikolov is studying in the conservatory as well as computer science. Chikolov was the primary setter for the Raptors, starting 20 matches. He recorded 258 assists, second on the team, and currently ranks third in program history in career assists, with 1503. Chikolov recorded 87 digs, tallied 20 kills and 22 aces on the season.
Junior
Quinn Lewis is studying studio art. Lewis played in 28 matches in his junior season. He ranked fourth on the team in digs, with 146 (1.51/set), including a ten-dig performance against John Jay to match his career-high. Lewis also dished out 12 assists, with three against Mount Aloysius.
Lastly,
Quincy Ross studied physics as an undergraduate and studied in the college's MAT graduate program. Ross started in 15 matches, playing in 61 sets. He led the team in blocks per set, at 0.75. Ross added 46 kills, 16 digs, and six aces. Ross recorded three or more blocks in eight matches.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have been a season long member of the program and have achieved second year academic status and have a minimum 3.50 GPA.
