Houghton and Kelly named to the 2024-25 Division III Academic All-District Team

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College women's tennis team has two 2024-25 Division III Academic All-District honorees, an award that recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the court and in the classroom. 

The two students honored are junior Paige Houghton and senior Maya Kelly

Junior Paige Houghton is majoring in psychology. Houghton played at No. 1 singles once, No. 2 singles nine times, and played at No. 3 singles three times. She played at No. 1 doubles in 11 matches and played at No. 2 doubles twice. 

Senior Maya Kelly is majoring in political studies. Kelly played the majority of the season at No. 1 singles, winning a team-leading five matches across No. 1 and No. 2 singles. She played at No. 1 doubles in 12 matches and played at No. 2 doubles in two matches. 

To be recognized on the Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and enrolled full-time with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50. The student-athletes need to be in the lineup for 70% of the team's total matches, including team scores. The Academic All-District Team is selected by the College Sports Communicators.
