PREVIEW: Men’s Volleyball at the 2025 NEVC Championship

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College men's volleyball team will travel to SUNY Poly on Wednesday for the first round of the 2025 NEVC Championship with the match starting at 7:30 p.m.
  
The Raptors and Wildcats played earlier this season on March 29, with Poly winning in a tight four sets,  25-22, 26-18, 25-19, 25-23. 
 
The winner will play No. 1 seed Nichols, who is undefeated in conference play this season on Saturday. As the top seed, the Bison have earned a first-round bye, and the right to host the semifinal and championship rounds.

Bard rookie Ansel Waisler leads the league and is 23rd in Division III with 3.90 kills per set and 382 total kills, is second in digs with 204, and is second in aces per set, at 0.45. Among first years, he is fourth in the country in kills per set. 

Teammate Sidney Stein is ranked third in the NEVC with 3.29 kills per set. Additionally, Pearse Esposito is one of six players in Division III to record a triple-double this season, and he is the only first year to do so.

The winners of the two semifinal matchups on Saturday, April 12 will meet for the NEVC title match on Sunday, April 13 at Nichols.

Semifinals- Saturday, April 12 (at No. 1 Nichols)  
Match 3 - Winner Match 1 vs. No. 1 Nichols – 4:00 PM
Match 4 - Winner Match 2 vs. No. 2 SUNY Potsdam – 7:00 PM

Championship- Sunday, April 13 (at No. 1 Nichols)  

Winner Match 3 vs. Winner Match 4 – 1:00 PM
