RECAP: Three Raptors win in their respective events at the Pratt Invitational

Parchment wins the 100m, St. Peter wins the 800m, Esponilla wins 3K

The Bard College track and field team had three Raptors win their respective events at the Pratt Invitational on a rainy Saturday. 

Bard placed in the Top 8 in eight of the 11 events they competed; the women's team placed in the Top 8 in all five track events. Gabrielle Parchment won the 100 meters, and her time of 13.38 is a Liberty League Championship Qualifying Standard. Parchment finished second in the 200 meters with a time of 28.12. Hawra Moochhala placed third in the 200 meters, while Carina Cooke came fourth. Camila Sandaal ran the 200m and placed fourth in the 400m with a personal best of 1:09.06, shaving off a second from her previous time of 1:10.35. Emma St. Peter finished first in the 800 meters, while Amaya Zebe-Herrera placed sixth. Jynaiya Grizzle competed in the 100m and the long jump, while Lismery Guzman-Cruz competed in her first outdoor meet, running the 100m and throwing the shot put. The quartet of Grizzle, and Cooke finished second in the 4x100. 

On the men's side, the Raptors placed in the Top 8 in three of their four track events. Clemente Esponilla ran his first 3K outside and won the event with a time of 9:15.16. Lazaros Panagiotounis finished fifth in the 100m with a time of 12.23 and then finished eighth in the 200m. Johnny Henriquez competed in his first collegiate meet and ran the 100m and 200m. 

Bard will be back on Friday, April 18 when it heads to UAlbany for the Albany Spring Classic.
