Box Score ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — The Bard women's tennis team fell to Ithaca at the Raptors' home courts on Sunday afternoon.
Ithaca took the doubles point, but Bard put up resistance, hitting winners at the net.
Maya Kelly and
Paige Houghton won a game against the Bombers.
At No. 1 singles, Kelly served as a leader for Bard. Even after dropping her match, she supported the team members who played after her. Houghton got a game at No. 2 singles against the hard-hitting Ithaca opponent. It was her sixth match at No. 2 this season, all but one coming in the spring.
Victoria Bagatcholon played her fifth match in a row at No. 3 singles, where she rebounded from the first set by taking the first game of the second set. However, the Bombers were more consistent and finished points through drop shots or volleys.
Patricia Santos played her 11th match at No. 4 singles, earning a game.
At No. 5 singles,
Jesse Radzik tallied the most games of any Raptor and was the last to finish her match.
Lisa Kyrtoka fought hard in her No. 6 singles match, which was the fifth in a row at that spot.
The Raptors host the Tigers of RIT on Friday at 3 p.m.
