RECAP: Women’s Tennis Taken Down by Skidmore

| By:
Box Score SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. The Bard women's tennis team played a conference match against Skidmore at the McCafferey-Wagman Tennis and Wellness Center on Saturday evening.

Bard showed resilience but struggled to turn the tide. The Skidmore doubles teams were able to play first-strike tennis and finished points at the net, leading to their sweep.

Maya Kelly dropped her match at No. 1 singles, where she battled in extended rallies but was gradually worn down. At No. 2 singles, Paige Houghton faced a lefty who played with a lot of topspin. She was the last to complete her match of the four singles matches that started on court.

At No. 3 singles, Victoria Bagatcholon started down 4-0 but continued to grind, going up 15-0 in the fifth game. Her opponent broke up any rhythm by making a large majority of her first serves.

Patricia Santos got on the board in five games, and she served at a 19-for-28 (67.9%) clip at No. 4 singles. At No. 5 singles, Jesse Radzik was pushed back in the court and had to play defense against her opponent. Lisa Kyrtoka played in the No. 6 singles spot, where she absorbed pressure well but couldn't convert it into a game.

The Raptors turn the calendar to April, facing Manhattanville on the road Friday at 2 p.m.
