Lazaros Panagiotounis was named the Liberty League Men's Basketball Performer of the Week on Monday afternoon.
In a 1-1 week for the Raptors, Panagiotounis was the main offensive driving force. This week, he averaged 20.0ppg, 34.3 FG%, 40.0 3pt FG%, 7.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals. In the matchup against St. Lawrence, Panagiotounis had his 10th 20+ point game with 22. He added six rebounds, two assists and a steal. He had 11 points after halftime, going 2-of-4 from behind the arc.
In the win against Clarkson, Panagiotounis had to find his rhythm as he had two people guarding him everytime he took a shot. He still managed to score 18 points, his 16th double-digit point game of the season, and grabbed eight rebounds, dished out three assists and had two steals. He had 8 points in the first half and had 10 in the second half. Panagiotounis stays fourth in scoring within the league and 3rd in 3-PT FG per game.
It is Panagiotounis's second Performer of the Week this season and third in his career. He is the first Raptor since Lamar Powell to be named Performer of the Week twice in a season. Powell was Performer of the Week on Nov 18, 2013 and Feb 17, 2014.
