The Bard College women's basketball team dropped a Liberty League game against the RPI Engineers on Friday evening.
Tianna Gonzalez had a team-high 11 points on 5-of-12 shooting. She added seven rebounds.
Lexi Miller had nine points on six field goal attempts, adding six rebounds.
Shirley Dong had seven points and six rebounds in 29 minutes.
Erin Tobes had a steal and two blocks, while
Aislynn Dixon and
Jessica Martin each picked up steals.
Maggy Peyton had a game-high 10 rebounds, adding five points and two assists.
The Raptors turned defense into offense to start the game, as a Tobes block led to a Miller layup. Gonzalez crashed the glass to get an offensive rebound and scored to put the Raptors up 4-2. Bard stayed within five during the first quarter, and six Raptors scored in the frame. The Engineers started with 10 straight points in the second quarter and Bard did not find as much success on either side of the ball.
Bard's offense got back on track, with 14 third quarter points, but RPI caught fire from three, hitting 5-of-8 in the quarter. The Raptors had seven offensive rebounds in the third compared to the Engineers' five. Overall, the Raptors had two more second chance points than the Engineers, 20-18.
The Raptors conclude their road schedule with William Smith tomorrow at 2 p.m.
