ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College women's basketball team scored a season-high 88 points, assisted on a season-high 30 of 36 field goals, and defeated the MCLA Trailblazers on Monday evening, 88-38.
Jessica Martin had a historic performance, lighting up the gym with a program-record 9 threes on 15 attempts and 10-of-16 overall, for a career-high 30 points. The previous record was seven, set by Jess Rylander in 2020 and tied by Aislynn Dixon last season.

Lexi Miller imposed her will, scoring 17 (season-high) on 8-of-12 shooting, and grabbing 13 rebounds, 10 offensive, for her tenth career double-double. Erin Tobes was a drive-and-kick machine, accumulating a career-high 12 assists in 25 minutes. She added eight points, seven rebounds, and four steals.

Shirley Dong was three assists away from a triple-double, recording 11 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists. She tied a career-high with her 12 rebounds. Morgan Kottka contributed eight points, five rebounds, two steals, and two assists. Aislynn Dixon had six points, three steals, three assists, and three rebounds. Liberty League Honor Roll honoree, Ava Gregory, tallied eight rebounds, three assists, two points, a career-high three steals, and a block. Tianna Gonzalez contributed seven rebounds, six points, and two assists.

In the first half, MCLA had an 11-9 lead, but a 16-0 Bard run allowed the Raptors to soar to a 25-11 lead 19 seconds into the second quarter. MCLA scored a bucket, and then the Raptors completely took over, using a 10-0 run over the next four minutes to cement a 20-point lead at 35-15. The Raptors ended the half up 22, 41-19. It was the largest halftime lead in six years, as in 2019 the Raptors led Bay Path 51-7. Miller had a double-double over the course of 14 minutes in the first half, with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Dong nearly matched that performance with nine points and nine rebounds in 13 minutes.

Bard continued to put on a show in the second half, scoring another 47 points, the most in a half since the 2019 Bay Path game. After a 20-6 third quarter, the Raptors led by 36, 61-25. Gonzalez punctuated it with a steal and an and-one opportunity to send the crowd into a craze. Martin started the second half and made the most of it, hitting five threes in the fourth quarter to set the Raptors' new record for threes in a game. Bard scored 13 of its 29 points off of turnovers in the fourth quarter, exhausting the Trailblazers physically and mentally.

The Raptors continue their homestand on Monday against Sarah Lawrence at 7:30 p.m.

Notes:
  • It is the most points scored by the Raptors since 2019, when the team scored 101 points against Bay Path
  • First back-to-back wins in program history since the 2023-24 season and first back-to-back wins at home in program history since the 2019-20 season.
  • Martin's 9 threes are the most by a Liberty League player since 2022 by Vassar's Dani Douglas. Martin was one 3pt short from putting her name in the NCAA Div. III Women's Basketball record book with 10 or more 3PT Field Goals Made in a game.
