Box Score Gallery: (10-13-2025) Men's Tennis at Salve Regina
NEWPORT, R.I. — The Bard College men's tennis team won its first match of 2025-26 against the Salve Regina Seahawks on Saturday.
At No. 1 doubles,
Nick Oh and
Ivan Borshchev gritted it out but could not take down Salve Regina. At No. 2 doubles,
Blake Kendall and
Ciaran Chamberlain made an excellent effort in their first match together.
Peter Trimble and
Thanasis Kostikas battled to a victory in their debut as a duo at No. 3 doubles.
At No. 1 singles, Oh notched his first win at the top of the ladder. Kostikas downed the Seahawks at No. 2 singles. Borshchev was competitive in each set at No. 3 singles.
Kendall responded from a tough tiebreak in the first set at No. 4 singles, going up 5-0 in the second set and eventually forcing a third-set tiebreak. In the tiebreak, he came back from 2-6 to tie it at 6-6 before the final stretch went to the Seahawks. Chamberlain took down Salve Regina at No. 5 singles. Trimble clinched the match with his win at No. 6 singles.
Bard will face Marywood on Tuesday in Scranton, Pennsylvania at 4 p.m.
