ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.— Two members of the Bard College men's volleyball team - sophomores
Georgi Chikolov and
Quinn Lewis - were honored as the 2024 Division III Academic All-District At-Large Team, an award that recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the court and in the classroom.
Sophomore
Georgi Chikolov is studying piano performance in the conservatory, as well as computer science. Chikolov was the primary setter for the Raptors, starting all of the team's 28 matches. He ranked third within the conference (NEVC) for assists per set, averaging 7.28, and ranks third all-time in school history with 1,245 career assists. Chikolov ranked second on the team with 26 aces and tied for third in digs with 124. He also added 34 kills and 14 blocks. He was named NEVC Academic All-Conference.
Sophomore
Quinn Lewis is studying studio art. Lewis started in 23 matches and played in 79 sets for the Raptors as the team's libero. Lewis was tied third for third on the team with 124 digs, and added 11 assists, three aces and four kills.
To be nominated for At-Large Academic All-District Team, the athlete must have a GPA of 3.50 or above and must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. The student-athlete has to have competed in 90% of the Team's total games played or have started 66% of the Team's total games. The Academic All-District Team is selected by the College Sports Communicators.
