ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College women's lacrosse team celebrated their Stick It Pink game to raise money for Miles of Hope, a local non-profit organization that provides funds to women affected by breast cancer.
The Raptors battled against Vassar, but came up short in a home, conference match on Wednesday evening, with the visitors winning 16-4.
Vassar took an early lead, scoring six goals in the first seven minutes of the game. The Raptors ended the Brewer's run with back-to-back goals from
Maggy Peyton and
Gwendolyn Jamison. In the second half of play, Bard received another solo goal from
Maggy Peyton, her eleventh goal of the season.
Morgan Ruhle scored in the 8th minute of the fourth quarter to finish the game for the Raptors.
Morgan Ruhle led Bard in groundballs picking up five for the game with a host of other Raptors making solid contributions.
Emerson Embrey and
Maggy Peyton tied each other for a team-high two draw controls.
Lexie Blackburn finished the game with 12 saves.
Bard will play nationally ranked William Smith this Saturday on Ferrari Field at 1:00 p.m.
