ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College women's soccer team completed its season, recognizing seniors
Seymone Rosenberg,
Waleska Brito, and
Senowa Leverentz before their last match on Saturday afternoon at Ferrari Field.
Rosenberg was called on early to make saves, preventing Madison Hallet and Molly Cunningham from scoring in the 2nd and 6th minutes, respectively. Elianna Caporusso also had a shot on a rebound, but Rosenberg got her hands on it. The Raptor goalie recorded five of her six first half saves in the first nine minutes of action. The pressure built, and Liberty League goal leader Ella Stone broke through, scoring her 12th goal.
Bard settled down, led on the attack by
Carina Cooke and Brito, who recorded shots on goal in the final seven minutes of the half.
Skidmore led the corner battle 3-0, but that advantage was nullified in the second half: each team had two.
Mikayla Dorrer, a substitute in the first half, started the second and capitalized on the opportunity, scoring 2:35 after kickoff. Later, Hannah Fetzer made the score 3-0.
Mahlia Slaiby had Bard's lone shot on goal in the second half at the 73:31 mark.
Rosenberg finished with ten saves, reaching double-digits for the 5th time this year.
The Raptors finished the year with a 3-13-1 record, winning over Purchase, Brooklyn, and CCNY. Brito led the team with a career-high seven goals on the season, followed by Cooke with three and five different Raptors with one. Cooke also led the team with three assists. Rosenberg capped off a spectacular career, accumulating 300 saves, the most by a Raptor all-time.
