ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. — The Bard College women's soccer team battled RIT, but came up short in Liberty League action on Saturday afternoon at Ferrari Field, with the visitors capturing a 7-0 victory.

RIT (4-4-1, 2-0-1 Liberty League) jumped on the offensive early on, getting a pair of shots on target that Seymone Rosenberg saved before taking an early lead just 1:40 into the match. The Raptors (4-3-1, 0-2-1) were under constant pressure from the Tigers, who added a second goal in the 17th minute and a third in the 31st. Sierra Celiberti had the Raptors' best chance of the half in the 37th minute but her shot was saved, and RIT managed a pair of quick goals in the two minutes before halftime to enter the break up 5-0.

The Raptors came out in the second half with renewed intensity and Camila Saandal did a great job of breaking up attacks from the Tigers from her spot in central defense. Strong defensive efforts also came from Carina Cooke, Emma Kuntz, and Senowa Leverentz, and Aidan Athanasio earned another shot on goal but the effort was saved. RIT closed their scoring with goals in the 65th and 81st minutes.

The Bard women's soccer team used the match to spread awareness and raise funds for the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, an organization established to fund support services for people affected by breast cancer in the Hudson Valley. Fans for Bard and RIT supported the cause through raffle ticket sales, buying baked goods, and generous donations.

Bard will travel to Troy, NY to take Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
