ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The Bard College women's volleyball team swept Albertus Magnus and Purchase on Saturday afternoon to go 2-0 in a tri-match at the Stevenson Athletic Center.
Bard (5-7) was led by senior
Ryan Lum, who stuffed the stat sheet today with 28 kills, 11 aces, 13 digs and four assists. Lum hit .410 with only three errors. The Raptors held the Falcons and the Panthers to 15 points or less in five out of the six sets played by Bard today. The set scores against Albertus Magnus were 25-20, 20-14 and 25-15, while the set scores for the matchup with Purchase were 25-15, 25-12, and 25-10.
Bard is thus far undefeated on their home court but will look to carry on their winning ways on the road when they travel to Saint Elizabeth on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Lum had 11 kills with only one error and had a hitting efficiency of .345. She tied her career high of six aces with no service errors. Sophomore
Becca Wintjen, normally a defensive specialist and setter, added seven kills on the pin with only one error and a .375 hitting percentage. Wintjen rounded out her performance with 12 assists and a career-high eight digs. Senior
Adi David added 14 assists, four aces and four digs.
In the first set, the Raptors took a 10-4 lead and never looked back. The Falcons managed a 9-4 run to reduce the deficit to 22-19 but a service error by the Falcons closed the set out for the Raptors. In the second set, the Raptors took a 21-14 lead, and four consecutive aces by Lum clinched the set. In the third set, the Raptors and Falcons were tied at 6-6, but Bard went on a 14-3 run to take a 20-9 lead. An attack error by the Falcons clinched the victory for the Raptors.
Bard 3, Purchase 0
Bard hit over .250 in each set, including a season-high hitting efficiency of .345 in the second set. Early in the first set, Purchase had a one-point lead, 10-9, but the Raptors went on a 14-3 run to take a 23-13 lead and later clinched with a service error from the Panthers.
The Raptors opened the second set with three service aces from senior
Puja Clements, then went on an 11-1 run to lead 18-4. Lum put the second set away with back-to-back kills. Bard only committed two errors in the second set. In the third set, the Raptors started out with a 21-7 lead and capped off an already strong performance with the most commanding of the day., topping Purchase by 15 points. Lum had a season-high 17 kills and committed only two errors.
