Women’s Volleyball drops opening matches at Virginia Wesleyan Tournament

Bard falls to Bridgewater, 3-0, and Plymouth State, 3-0

The Bard College women's volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on the opening day of the 2023 season against Bridgewater, 3-0, and against Plymouth State, 3-0, at the Virginia Wesleyan Tournament on Friday afternoon. 

Bard compiled 36 kills over the course of the two games, with senior Ryan Lum leading the team with eight kills overall. 

Although the Raptors struggled to find their offensive rhythm early, they were able to improve as the day went on and posted a .217 hitting percentage in the second set of the later match. Lum added 13 digs through both matches while fellow senior Adi David led the Raptors in assists with 22. Sophomore libero Ella Small tallied 16 digs, an assist, and three kills.

Women's Volleyball will be back in action tomorrow morning against Neumann at 9 a.m. and Thiel at 1 p.m.
