Annandale-on-Hudson, NY — The Bard College Department of Athletics and Recreation announced on Thursday that
Justin Gomez has been elevated to the position of Associate Head Baseball Coach and Facilities Coordinator.
In his new role as Associate Head Coach, Gomez will increase his responsibilities within the baseball program, where he has served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Raptors for the previous four seasons.
"Coach Gomez has been and continues to be an integral part of the Bard Baseball program," said Head Baseball Coach,
Andy Salvatore. "His ability to connect with current and future Bard student athletes is second to none. He brings high level energy and care to every aspect of his work and the entire Bard community is lucky to have him."
In Gomez's time as an assistant under Salvatore, Bard has continued to grow in competitiveness both inside and outside the Liberty League, and had nine Raptors named to All-Liberty League Teams. In 2022, the team earned nine league wins, setting a program record, and defeated several strong regional rivals including Middlebury and Williams.
As the department's Facilities Coordinator, Gomez will oversee the maintenance and scheduling of Bard's athletic facilities. He will also be the primary point of contact for external rentals and will supervise student staff in the building.
"I'm really pleased for Justin to be taking on these expanded roles within our department," said Associate Director of Athletics, Stefanie Carrington. "His work ethic is unmatched and he has a real passion for Bard Athletics and supporting our student-athletes on and off the field."
Prior to arriving at Bard, Justin worked at Historic Dodgertown in Vero Beach, Fla, in their baseball operations department.
He attended the University of Tampa in Tampa, where he majored in Sports Management, minored in Business Administration, and was a member of the Spartans baseball team.
Justin is heavily involved in the local baseball community, helping run camps and clinics, and teaching young people the game of baseball.
