POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Bard women's track team competed at Vassar's Twilight Open on Friday night, with a number of strong individual performances as the team continues to build through the outdoor season.
The Raptors pushed through the cold and windy conditions in Poughkeepsie to set some strong marks. Lizzie Aldous took eighth place in the 400m, and a crowd of Bard athletes competed in both the 100m (
Hawra Moochhala,
Sophia Tighe,
Jynaiya Grizzle,
Alex Nguyen, and Laura Ibanez) and the 200m (Moochala, Tighe, Aldous, Grizzle,
Erica Lee, and Ibanez).
Sadie Torre and Emilia Cooper ran well in the 800m, and
Martha Gomez set an opening school mark in the hammer as the first Bard athlete to compete in the event.
Bard will travel to Cortland next weekend as the team works toward the Liberty League Championship in early May in Rochester.
