ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY – The Bard women's lacrosse team returned to competition on Monday evening on Ferrari Field, with the visitors from Sage earning a 23-6 win over the Raptors.
Sarah Child and
Izzi Popolizio each had two goals and an assist, and the Raptors also got goals from
Maggy Peyton and
Morgan Ruhle, and an assist from
Paige Gregg. Popolizio collected eight ground balls in the match and Ruhle had five.
Goalie
Martha Pasatiempo collected 15 saves in her first start of the season in net, leading the defensive unit against a strong Sage team. Gregg and Popolizio each caused three turnovers, with Child, Ruhle, and
Jun Yokomizo-Mauldin causing one apiece.
Despite being shorthanded due to injury and illness, the Raptors battled through the final buzzer at the start of what will be a busy week. The team will host Ithaca on Friday at 4pm and RPI on Saturday at 1pm in a Liberty League back-to-back weekend.
